Charlie Bear is “America’s OFFICIAL Adventure Bear”®. He's 5 feet tall and physically challenged (he can't bend at the waist - or the knees). By the way he acts, you get the sense he's “almost real". He is a loveable, fun, curious, kind and gentle bear who was “born” at the Hen House in Norwalk, Ohio and grew up with humans!

His LIFE PURPOSE is to teach us to go through life with our eyes and hearts wide open and discover what's grrreat about America's people and places.

I'm Lynn, the founding creator of “Charlie Bear's Grrreat Adventure”® . I'm a professional photographer in our Nation's Capitol. (www.focusedimages.com). In addition to that, Charlie Bear and I are the original "Grrreat Adventure Team".

How did this all begin? People ask me this all the time, so here's where you can read how I connected with this wonderful bear-soul and began to build memories that feed the hearts of all whom we encounter. Charlie Bear tours through small towns, rural farms and big cities in the USA and creates adventures along the way. He seeks out simply - what's grrreat about America's people and places. (He's quite a "magnet" with those bright eyes and warm friendly face.) He can't bend at the waist or the knees, and he needs some help getting around; but, that doesn't stop him at all. He shares these heart-felt discoveries with all of us in his true Adventure Journals, written in "first person bear", of course.

Whether you are 6 years or 106 years old, these stories, along with the enchanting photographs, will warm your heart and cause you to laugh from deep within.

I'm Charlie, a kind and gentle bear who was raised with humans. Bears who are raised in the woods look at humans a little differently than I do. If you see a real live bear who bends at the waist and can run really well - and happens to be in the same area you are; be sure to keep your distance. Many bears don't understand that most humans are really okay and just want to be their friends. And, most likely, I won't be there to talk Bear language and help you out. Bears can get scared and protective of their own spaces. I've seen it happen with humans, too. So, don't push it; just give them their space and don't get in their way. On the other hand, I am kind and gentle and I am not afraid to look for grreat people and places throughout my adventures in the USA. I hope we'll meet some day and I can be your friend.
